Appointed by Aitch Group in December 2011, DSDHA developed a residential-led, mixed-use scheme for a site on the Regent’s Canal in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, taking the scheme up to a successful planning application.
Located between the burgeoning art district of Vyner Street and the popular Broadway Market, and at the nexus of road, rail and canal infrastructure, the site provides a unique opportunity to stitch together the wider area.
DSDHA’s proposal addresses the need to signify this area as a location undergoing regeneration, and provides a sophisticated transition between the commercial and residential uses that border it. The building is robust, yet refined, taking inspiration from the industrial heritage of the local area, to provide an appropriate response for this East End address.
