DSDHA were commissioned in 2006 by the London Boroughs of Barking & Dagenham, and Havering, to lead the development and implementation of this prestigious urban strategic plan to enhance and promote the environment of employment areas collectively known as London Riverside.
Following strategic assessment of sites and opportunities, four scales of signage were developed to locate new business opportunities. Consistency and legibility have driven the design development which has been closely co-ordinated with the local authority to comply with the complex demands of funding, procurement, and maintenance.
The ‘family of signs’ developed provides a framework to extend its influence into the wider public realm with more specific pedestrian signage and furniture which will unite the vision of the Thames Gateway as a sustainable community.
