DSDHA were appointed in October 2013 to prepare proposals for the redevelopment of 2 Savoy Court a grade II listed building located within the Savoy Conservation Area on the Strand, immediately adjacent to the Savoy Hotel.
The existing commercial building will be converted to provide 21 luxury apartments, including a new rooftop extension providing a duplex penthouse, with spectacular views over the River Thames.
Much of the historic interior has been lost thorough previous refurbishments and the scheme will reinstate these original features whilst offsetting this historic character against distinctly contemporary insertions.
The existing irregular roof will be rationalised to provide a dramatic penthouse, with the non-original metal cladding replaced with the original green pantiles to reinstate the composition with the neighbouring buildings.
