DSDHA were appointed in October 2011 by Berkeley Homes, following an invited competition, to develop masterplan proposals for a 1.9 hectare (4.7 acre) site located on City Road, opposite the City Road Basin and midway between Angel and Old Street Underground Stations.
In response to a previous planning consent for the site, DSDHA were commissioned to explore the potential for an alternative masterplan and test options to address issues such as movement through and around the site, connectivity, land use, distribution and quantum, building heights and massing, and preliminary design proposals.
